CVCA Traffic Calming Committee

CVCA's Traffic Calming Committee, currently chaired by Sharon Guida, meets the Department of Transportation of Baltimore City at 9:30 a.m. on the second Friday of each month with to discuss, review and implement traffic calming measures along 28th and 29th Street from the Jones Falls to Greenmount;

December 2010 Updates

1. Note: Although the CVCA Traffic Calming Committee had made a deal with the DOT to remove the Rush Hour Restrictions on Howard Street from 25th to 29th by the completion of the 25th Street Station Project in December of 2012, Frank Murphy of the DOT has agreed to explore the possibility of removing them sooner in light of this new discussion about St. Paul Street.

2. Rush hour parking restrictions will be removed from Saint Paul street starting at the beginning of the new year. The agreement with the DOT will guarantee a permanent removal of these restrictions. Details will be forthcoming shortly.

3.PROPOSED AREA 37 RPP EXPANSION: Residents of the unit block of E. 27th Street and the 2600 block of N. Charles Street have asked the CVCA to sponsor the expansion of Area 37 Residential Permit Parking (Charles Village West) to their blocks. Area 37 currently includes the unit and 100 blocks of W. 29th Street, W. 27th Street, W. 26th Street, the unit block of E. 26th, and the 2600-2800 blocks of Maryland Avenue. By adding more than one block face at one time, this will be a major amendment and will require a public hearing. Residents are gathering signatures from neighbors first. If residents of any contiguous blocks would like to join in the expansion, please contact Sharon L. Guida, Community Rep, at SLG2700@cs.com.
