CVCA Committees
There's lots of good work to do to keep our Sanitation Liaison: Liaises with CVCBD's Sanitation to help address sanitation complaints throughout Charles Village
Liaises with Northern District Neighborhood Services Officers, CVCBD Safety and Safety Advisory Council for issues in Charles Village. Encourages Neighborhood Walkers on Patrol participation in conjunction with CVCBD support. Traffic Calming: Liaises with Department of Transportation of Baltimore City with issues in Charles Village. Festival Committee: Meets, as needed, with representatives of other neighborhood organizations, such as The Village Learning Place
Garden Walk Committee: Meets, as needed, to plan the Annual Charles Village Garden Walk for the Sunday of the Annual Charles Village Festival; plans and maintains community garden sites throughout Charles Village;
Tree Stewards: Meets as needed to plan the creation of new treewells, widening of existing treewells, and the planting of new trees in unison with the Forestry Department of the City of Baltimore; works with residents and property owners who wish to participate; organizes bands of volunteers on work days; obtains grant of equipment and machinery from area non-profits. Holiday House Tour Committee: Meets August-December to plan the annual Snowflake Tour of Charles Village Homes. Chair: Ron Tanner; Jennifer Erickson, John Lessner, Shaun Carrick CVCA Sign Committee: Meets as needed to plan and coordinate the placement “Charles Village" long term promotional signs in Charles Village. . Charles Villager: Published five times a year (Winter, Spring, Festival, Summer, Holiday), its participants write and collect articles of interest, distribute it widely throughout Charles Village, and solicit advertisements.
CVCA Representation for DevelopmentLand Use Committee: Meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at 2434 St. Paul Street to review issues related to zoning, liquor board, and housing code violations within the Charles Village boundary, upcoming City and State legislation affecting land use, such as, live entertainment, group homes, comprehensive rezoning, North Charles PUD and Charles/25th Street URO committees, etc.; meets with and entertains requests from applicants for support and recommends action on these issues to the CVCA Board of Directors; attends hearings on behalf of the CVCA position. Charles Street Trolley; Meets as needed with the City and State to plan the implementation of the Charles Street Trolley. Charles Street Redesign: Meets as needed with the City to plan the redesign of Charles Street. Residential Parking Permit
Area 12: Charles Village North As liaison with the Parking Authority of Baltimore City, the community representative manages renewal of residential parking permits, solicits volunteers, and attends bi monthly meetings of Community Advisory Group held at the Parking Authority of Baltimore City.

Area 37: Charles Village West As liaison with the Parking Authority of Baltimore City, the community representative manages renewal of residential parking permits, solicits volunteers, and attends bi monthly meetings of Community Advisory Group held at the Parking Authority of Baltimore City. CVCA Representation of the CommunityBarclay Rec Advisory Board Attends monthly meetings of the Barclay Recreational Center Advisory Board held at the Barclay Elementary School on 29th and Barclay Streets. Margaret Brent Community Coordinating Council: Attends monthly meetings of the Margaret Brent Community Coordinating Council held at the Margaret Brent Elementary School at 26th and St. Paul Streets. North Charles PUD: Meets as needed to review and approve plans for development within URO boundaries, i.e., St. Paul Street and Charles Street between 29th Street and 33rd Street; Charles /25 St URO: Meets at 2434 N. St. Paul as needed to conduct plan and specification reviews of new development within URO boundaries. Decisions, based upon guidelines established by Community Review Panel, are then forwarded to DHCD for approval; CVCA Reps on the Charles Village Represents the CVCA as members of the Charles Village Community Benefits District Board of Directors at its meetings on the second Tuesday of each month at 2434 St. Paul Street at 7 p.m. Charles North Vision Plan Meets, as needed, with the Charles North neighborhood to discuss the future of the Charles North Area north of Mount Royal and south of 25th Street. Governance of CVCAMembership Committee: Meets as needed to plan strategies for maintaining and increasing membership to the CVCA, and to deliver membership value to current members; maintains membership records. Nominating Committee: Meets annually in May/June of each year to interview prospective candidates for Board Members and Officer; recommends slate for upcoming year to current board and to general membership at Annual Meeting in September of each year.
